Year of memories 2018

Festivals and culture:

Apart from the New year and Christmas, my Year starts with Pongal and ends with Diwali. Even though I’m staying miles away from home. For Pongal, I travelled home to attend parties with buddies and to follow rituals with families. After reached home, I hardly stayed minutes over there. It is something like I have fewer holidays to cover more ground and more people to say “Hi” to. So after Pongal there are many festivals to celebrate but staying away from home, those festivals are just Lie’s telling to my mother: ‘followed rituals’, ‘prayed to god’ and ‘visited temples’. Anyhow I managed to go home a couple of more times, once for my cousin brother’s marriage and Raksha Bandhan. Raksha Bandhan is not a big deal to travel home. But I have sisters and I’m sort of homesick too. so I went and add some memories for 2018. At year-end Diwali, I’m boredom of wasting holidays with watching NetFlix series and scrolling down the social networking sites. So Packed my things and Visited Amritsar for Diwali. To see Golden temple in the sparkles of ‘Oil lit traditional Indian lamps’ and ‘festival crackers’ worth going.

Travelling

As a gallivant, I can’t stay at the same place more time. This year my journey went through in search of peace, traditions, landscapes, monuments, histories, adventures and patriotism. Pongal journey to home made me realise my hometown is beautiful. Where watching the sunset on ghats seems the bridges from our side gives the path to go and meet the sun on another side. Where roads with greenery all around lead our journey. it is good to be there and my small travelling there is to go to my grandma village with a great stop by at the nearby beach. About beach’s, there is natures way of explaining spreading longer distance in peace and running back with melodies of music. Apart from this, my soul pulled me out of daily routine and landed me in a few other places.

#1 Agra – my best advice is not to visit it in winter. I visited it in winter and made me realize not to do so. when the time of my visit, pollution in Agra is far worse than Delhi NCR. No wonder why Taj getting darker. Apart from the blur mode visit there, I got a chance to taste Agra famous sweet petha.

#2 Varanasi – when I almost forgot to travel, unexpectedly travelled here with roomies. Ganga Aarti, bathe in Ganga, monuments, confused street paths, funerals and ghats. it is a good devotional take over for me in the year 2018.

#3 The Stellar Gymkhana – it is kind of membership club in Greater Noida. Where with my colleagues explored that place almost 12 acres of land in a day with Boating in an artificial pond, Indoor games – table soccer, air hockey, table tennis, billiards to Outdoor games – cricket, volleyball and soccer, photoshoots, snacks and dinner. All of these made our day.

#4 Nainital – A landscape where the lake lays in the lap of mountains. The 360-degree view of that place from Boating and Cable car ride feels pretty good that one can’t miss it after knowing about it.

#5 Amritsar – I’m generally not a big fan of history, but visiting here changed my perspective about it. Even Past is peaceful or driven from horrors the people here are peaceful, lovable and have serving nature inbuilt in there DNA.

Concerts and Parties

Parties: Escape from the routine. they happen every time Birthdays, Farewells, Team get-togethers and when we are boredom. Yeah even we can’t afford, we should. That’s how we will take our thoughts away and realize it after that they won’t be gone far. Anyways, my party-year 2018 started on my B’day. it is not so far from the new year, it comes few days after valentines and it will take away my sober single valentines night’s on 23rd of Feb. Roomies, even I said no party this year as no budget permits. They have given credit card and suggested EMI options. When the party is the escape we can’t escape it. And the party year went like HCL hangout at Hauz Khas, Team parties at Pearls Regency and Pirates of Grill respectively, Farewell treat at My Bar, Disco night at Titos and So on.

Concerts: These are on another hand not like parties but gave you hype of being insane. Yeah, why I’m saying so my experience with events in HCL and a concert at CP are like normal cool where I enjoyed pleasantly. But my year-end Hype started with Sonu Nigam concert before Diwali at HCL Noida and followed by Martin Garrix #1 DJ performance for the first time in Delhi NCR after Diwali on the month of December.

Shopping and Fashion

Fashion: It makes us different from being in society. when we are not billionaires or millionaires where their business make sound and there daily boring same routine dress shows their simplicity. yeah, exactly bu**sh** !!! Even our fashion sense won’t be trendy or media won’t be telecasting it. where we bother about our comfy, then the dress we wear will be our signature. In the year 2018, I didn’t spend on branded clothing instead I have chosen quality, fashionable and mostly comfy. my signature of wearing a dress wasn’t found yet. So instead of wasting money on what I wear once in a decade or forgetting that I have those in my closet i.e., branded expensive clothes. I tried the Black jacket on Tshirt’s for winter, a pocket tee or hip hop tees on trousers or loose cotton shirt on baggy jeans for summer.

Shopping: I’m not an anti or something for branded clothing but until unless I find my signature dressing, I don’t wanna waste my money or time wearing that boring billionaire entrepreneur type of dressing. So in the year 2018, I have gone for many clothes for winter and summer in the budget. In the winters it is challenging to be fashionable as we need to protect our body from cold. I have chosen a sweater, a hoodie and a couple of jackets. In that way, I’m not that red sweater guy, we used to see in winter. In summers it is easy to try different dressing, where we expose it rather cover it with the jacket as we do in winters. Other than Tees, Trousers, Jean Pants, Shirts. My summer favourite is a loose cotton shirt on Baggy Jean pants, where I feel comfortable from the sticky sweat and air circulation feels little colder.
